The Ministry of Social Affairs Synergizes the Model of Social Assistance in Pressing the Poverty Rate

Malang - Social assistance (bansos) distributed by the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) has been proven to contribute to the reduction of poverty.

Based on the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) report, Indonesia experienced the lowest point in the percentage of poverty since 1999, which was 9.82% in March 2018.

The Director General of Poor Management (PFM), Andi ZA Dulung, said that the Ministry of Social Affairs has carried out the Open Government Partnership (OGP) both between the central government, the regions, and other stakeholders to realize pro-poor policies.

"Food bans have been very instrumental in reducing poverty, especially the Social Assistance has been on target and the food program has run smoothly," Andi said in a written statement on Friday (11/02/2018).

This was said by Andi when leading and opening the Rakornis activities on the Determination of the Location of Coastal PFM, Small Island (PPK) and Inter-State Border (PAN), at HARRIS Hotel & Convention Center Maladi Malang, on 31 October - 3 November 2018.

In the presence of Representatives of the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) and Head of Regional III Social Service, Andi explained the results of research obtained from the National Team for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K) and the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas).

About 18 years ago, Andi said, the community only received 5.5 kg of rice assistance. From the research conducted by the Ministry of Social Affairs Jogja Hall, the data prove that the community has been able to receive around 8.5 kg - 9 kg of rice.

"Surely this signifies a good performance," he added.

At the end of his direction, Andi revealed that he felt the need for support from all parties. Both in terms of budget and implementation to be able to reach region III with a greater number of poverty numbers and more difficult access.

On that occasion, Director of Coastal, PPK, and PAN Abdul Hayat in his report to the Director General of PFM said that this activity aims to transform the model of assistance so that Productive Economic Business Assistance (UEP), Inhabitable House Rehabilitation (RSRTLH), and environmental facilities ( sarling) can be synergized to build togetherness and mutual cooperation in society.

"With new innovations to develop UEP assistance products, it can later become its own market share at home and abroad," Abdul said.
